LA SCALATA
Questo oggetto, la scarpa-scala, assorbe in sé il significato della moda e del sistema che tende a mettere in rilievo il corpo delle donne esaltandone la bellezza e rinchiudendole allo stesso tempo in una struttura di controllo dove sono richiesti maggiori sforzi per arrivare ad un posizione “più alta” nella società. La scala all’interno della scarpa rappresenta, appunto, la fatica per arrivare più in alto, in una posizione di forza rispetto ad altri/altre ma allo stesso tempo in una situazione di equilibrio (più o meno) precario che non permette movimenti totalmente liberi. La donna dunque, in una comunicazione sotterranea e misteriosa, vista come dominante ma allo stesso tempo anche prigioniera.

THE CLIMB
This object, the ladder-shoe, subsumes the implications of fashion and of a system that tends to emphasize women’s bodies by glorifying their beauty, but at the same time also locks them inside a controlled structure. This situation forces women to make greater efforts in order to get to a “higher” position in society. The staircase inside the shoe represents, indeed, their struggle to climb higher, to reach a better social standing compared to other people – at the same time trying to maintain a (more or less) precarious balance that doesn’t completely allow freedom of movement. Hence women, through a subtle and mysterious message, are seen as dominant but at the same time also as prisoners.
